Warehouse floor

Warehouse industrial flooring, a forklift

Hardened concrete flooring. Entry-level Multitop® mineral hardener had been picked for the project, even though the forklift traffic is evident.

Project: Belle Jardin cosmetics manufacturer warehouse

Technology: Hardened concrete flooring, Multitop® hardener, gray.

Possible use: warehouse, logistics area, chemical industry

Area: 500 m2

Constructing a warehouse and wondering what flooring to pick? Several options exist, with monolithic concrete floor (industrial flooring) the most common, because of price per square meter. Are there other choices?

Two destructive forces must be cracked down on in warehouses. Point loads (racks' legs), and abrasive forces (forklifts and pallet trucks). Hardened concrete floor (the slab usually 10-20 cm thick) will resist them all.

Check how to build the industrial flooring. Suffice to say, flooring decisions need to be made at the design stage of the warehouse's construction. The very process of building the slab - from pouring concrete until moving in - usually takes approx. one month.

Other choices

If not hardened concrete, then what? You might run across in warehouses:

  • resin coating - recommended for damp rooms or those with chemicals. More expensive than concrete,
  • flooring screed - for old flooring renovation, thin layer.

For newly-built warehouses however, recommended is the system pictured. Check markets we supply.

Racks and pallets, concrete slab

Racks and pallets on warehouse flooring. They exert both point and distributed loads onto the floor.

Euro pallets, gray flooring

Rubber buffer on the rack's leg implies heavy forklift and pallet jack traffic in this 500+ m2 warehosue.

Intensively used concrete flooring, Tyres traces

The crossroads of the warehouse. The reflected light makes heavy traffic obvious. The floor will take it all and is dust proof.
